And Some More Cookies!

Just something a little simple for this week. I decided to add chocolate chips and macadamia nut to my delicious sugar cookie recipe. I was interested in seeing how this would come out. I should've looked up if you should add anything to the dough, but I wanted to find out the hard way. To my surprise the cookies came out fabulous! They were a hit! I brought them to school the next day and within minutes they were gone. I would definitely recommend them for any holiday events that are coming up in the future! Happy eating!

Sugar Cookies

This week, I worked on baking sugar cookies. Normally, I don't focus on making the cookies into shapes but this week I wanted to try something different in honor of my capstone.

As you can see, I used star cookie cutters. Honestly, this is the only cookie cutter I had that wasn't holiday themed. I also used some store-bought colored sprinkles that I thought would add a nice touch to the cookie display of the cookie.

I got a little adventurous after about 2 batches of cookies. I found a jar of icing in my kitchen cabinet and decided to decorate the cookies with it. I then put sprinkles on the cookies, similar to the other ones.

My Capstone

I am a senior at Science Leadership Academy. At SLA, in order to graduate we do these projects called Capstones. Each senior is required to do one. We can chose anything of our own preference. For my capstone I chose to create a blog that would basically be a journal for my baking experiences, since I love to bake. For the next few months, I will be baking something new every week and documenting my experiences. I will also be posting recipes to the items that I bake and providing reviews from my peers on my baked goods so you can have an insight on how my items actually come out. I hope that you may be able to relate and learn from my baking escapes and enjoy my blog! Please feel free to leave comments and questions anywhere along the way.

Happy Baking :)
